Author, paranormal researcher, Founder and Director of the Paranormal Research Institute For the last 30 years Dan Williams has been fascinated with all things outside of the ‘normal’ range of human experiences. After having several paranormal experiences ranging from encounters with various entities to watching phantom lights on a remote mountain Dan finally joined a ghost hunting team in Anchorage, Alaska. Through this group he became close to several of the current board of directors of the PRI. During his time with this group, however, he realized something was missing. Though the group claimed to be “scientific”, there was little actual science involved. Noticing that this was the case with many other groups, the idea for the Paranormal Research Institute began to form. After relocating to Illinois Dan wrote and published “Chasing Shadows: A paranormal primer”, a book explaining his views on paranormal research. Following the publication of the book Dan met more of the PRI members and everything began to come together. Finally, forms filled out and filed with the state of Illinois, the Paranormal Research Institute became an official non-profit research institute in August of 2016. The purpose of the PRI is to study Paranormal phenomena using objective and scientific methodology. Today the PRI is on the cutting edge of paranormal research, testing new methods for research as well as logging and cataloging investigations in an effort to find patterns to paranormal activity and educating other groups in the PRI techniques so information gathered by different groups and individuals can be leveraged in an effort to someday answer the universal question: What else is in the world around us?
